Jamie Goldstein founded Pillar VC with the ambition to build the next generation of lasting companies in Boston.
Jamie has spent over two decades working in venture capital, and is Founder & Partner at our firm. He also serves as Chairman of Petri, an accelerator program co-founded by Pillar VC focused on supporting companies attacking the world’s largest problems at the intersection of computation, biology and engineering.
Jamie has led Pillar VC’s investments in PillPack, Kuebix, Desktop Metal, Algorand, PathAI, Asimov, Neural Magic, Jellyfish and Edgewise, among others.
Prior to Pillar, Jamie was an investing partner for 18 years at North Bridge Venture Partners, where he invested in companies including Actifio, Plexxi (acquired by HPE), Layer3 TV (acquired by TMobile for $325M), and O3b Networks (sold to SES for over $2.5B).
Prior to North Bridge, Jamie co-founded PureSpeech, a venture-backed speech recognition software and applications company that was acquired by Voice Control Systems [NASDAQ: VCSI] and subsequently sold to Nuance [NASDAQ: NUAN]. Jamie also co-founded WattsUp?, a company that sells consumer electricity meters, and remains in business today.
Jamie grew up in the Boston area and is a graduate of MIT in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He served as both Chairman and President of the New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA) and served as Chairman and is currently Vice Chairman of Match Education. He is also the co-founder of the MIT Sandbox and is currently a member of the Funding Board. Jamie also co-founded StartMIT, the boot camp for MIT student entrepreneurs, and is a Member of the Visiting Committee of EE/CS at MIT.
