Who We Are

Pillar VC is a venture capital firm based in Boston co-founded by 22 CEOs, including the leaders of Wayfair, DraftKings, Gingko Bioworks and Demandware. We invest in companies at the formation and seed stage with $150 million under management. Beyond capital, we surround founders with deep operating experience, coaching, talent and customer relationships.

Pillar VC backs unstoppable founders across all sectors, with particular interest in Boston’s world-class universities and vibrant start-up community. We’re the first capital in for founders building the next-generation of pillar companies in our region, and we’re proud investors in companies like Algorand, PillPack, Desktop Metal, Hometap, Jellyfish, Zapata, Higharc, and Asimov.

We believe the closer we align our incentives with those of the founders, the better we can build trust, and from that, achieve profound results. That’s why we frequently offer to buy Common stock, the same type of stock the founder owns. VC doesn’t have to be the darkside.
